Earthbound Therapy
Reconnecting to nature, reconnecting to self.
A gentle return to what you already are; connected, whole, and held by the earth. A chance to come home.

An invitation to be with what is
With yourself, with nature, and with what’s unfolding in this moment.
A shelter of slow time
Where complexity is welcome, and nothing is too much.
A relationship held in trust
Between therapist, client, and our non-human kin.
A remembering
Of your place in the web of life, and the rhythm that lives in your own bones.
We acknowledge the original custodians of the land in which we work, live, play and breathe on. We pay our respects to the Gagidal People of the Eora Nation and we thank the elders past and present for their ever present connection to this land.
About Earthbound
At Earthbound Therapy, we offer a place to slow down.
To breathe. To notice. To reconnect with yourself and with the world that surrounds you.
We work with the practice of ecotherapy, drawing on the natural environment as a steady, non-judging presence in the therapeutic process.Sessions take place in quiet natural spaces across Sydney,
places like Centennial Parklands, Sydney Park, and the Maroubra Coast Walk.Nature isn’t just a backdrop in our sessions. It offers rhythm, perspective, and visits like an old friend.If being outdoors doesn’t feel quite right, we also meet at Zenly Yoga Studio in St Peters;
a calm, low-sensory space where natural elements are gently woven into the room.
For many, this is a softer way to begin. (Fridays only)Online sessions are also available.
Even through a screen, we work with what’s already around you,
your breath, the light in the room, the sound of leaves outside your window.Ecotherapy is never out of reach.
What to expect
We meet outdoors, in a park, by the ocean, or under trees and we walk (or sit) at your pace, with space to talk, reflect and simply be.Sessions might include silence, conversation, mindfulness, or creative exploration, whatever feels right for you in that moment.Nature is not just the setting, but part of the process. There’s no pressure to be any particular way. Just come as you are.
This work is for anyone seeking to:
Feel more grounded in their body and emotions
Navigate grief, change, or uncertainty
Reconnect with meaning, self-trust, or direction
Move through burnout, anxiety, or feeling “lost”
Reclaim a sense of belonging; in self, in life, in the world
Meet Cassie
I came into the work of ecotherapy because I felt the difference nature made in my own life, how it offered space when things felt tight and steadiness when things felt uncertain. Now, I offer that same space to others.I’m a PACFA-registered therapist with a background in arts therapy and advanced training in ecotherapy. But more importantly, I’m someone who believes you already hold what you need and that nature can help you remember.Whether we’re walking outdoors, sitting quietly, or working together online, I offer a gentle, creative space to explore what matters to you at your pace, in your own way. This is a place to feel, reflect, and return to what’s yours and I'd be honoured to walk the path with you.
Ecotherapy
“By refreshing our sense of belonging in the world, we widen the web of relationships that nourishes us and protects us from burnout.”
― Joanna Macy
What is ecotherapy?
Ecotherapy is a form of psychotherapy that takes place in connection with the natural environment. It’s based on the understanding that our mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing are closely tied to the health of the natural world.Instead of working only within a clinical room, ecotherapy uses outdoor natural spaces, or elements of nature indoors or online, as part of the therapeutic process. Nature isn’t just a calming backdrop. It becomes part of the relationship: grounding, regulating, and offering perspective.
Why does it matter?
Research consistently shows that spending time in nature can:
Reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression
Improve mood and emotional regulation
Lower blood pressure and cortisol levels
Support attention, memory, and cognitive function
Increase feelings of connection, meaning, and vitality
Ecotherapy integrates this into a therapeutic context so you’re not just walking in nature, but reflecting, processing, and exploring with support.
How it works
The Ecology of Connection
A way of understanding how ecotherapy supports wellbeingEcotherapy isn’t a technique, it’s a relationship. It weaves together your inner world, your connection with others (human and more-than-human), and your sense of place in the wider web of life.We can think of this in four gently overlapping layers:

1. Inner Awareness
Coming into presence with yourself
The starting point is your own body, breath, emotion, and experience.
Ecotherapy invites you to notice not to fix, but to feel.
This layer supports self-awareness, nervous system regulation, and spaciousness.
2. The Therapeutic Relationship
Being supported, witnessed, and held in trust
Here, the human-to-human connection creates safety and reflection.
This includes evidence-based practices like mindfulness, narrative work, and creative expression.
But more importantly, it’s about being met where you are, with care.
3. Nature as Companion
The more-than-human world joins the process
Nature becomes a co-participant in the work.
A tree can offer grounding. A breeze can echo emotion. A shoreline can create rhythm.
This relationship supports a sense of connection beyond language.
4. Ecological Belonging
Reclaiming your place in the living world
The outermost layer is also the deepest: remembering that you are not separate from nature,
but shaped by it, held by it, and part of it.
This layer often brings a quiet shift in how we relate to meaning, responsibility, and the future.
